Rabindra Jayanti _Konika

On 09.05.2022 our Konika children celebrated the birthday of Rabindra Nath Tagore. It is celebrated in early May, on the 25th day of the Bengali month of Boishakh (২৫শে বৈশাখ), since Tagore was born on this day of the year 1268 (1861 AD) (২৫শে বৈশাখ, ১২৬৮) of the Bengali calendar.

The day is celebrated with grandeur in different parts of West Bengal. Cultural events pertaining to Tagore's works are performed in schools, universities, and even in localities. Dances (based on Rabindra sangeet), dramas, songs, and recitals form an integral part of these events.

Konika children performed dance with songs, recited poems etc. their teacher Bela Chatterjee also participated in the programme. Dr. Bikas Basu distributed sweets amongst all after the programme. You will find detailed report from Konika Monitor later.
